ok.. so to continue resetting I have to do these right missions? If I hadn't accepted the mission I wouldn't have been able to get to reset 55?

Hi, I started David's quest, the one with resets 50+, I have to do the gold and white magicians one. Since I haven't finished resetting yet, I wanted to abandon the quest, to continue exploring, does anyone know how to do it and if it's possible? Thank you.
