i get why you're trying to defend your friend. Let me give you an example : you go to America and chat to a friend in a coffee shop in front of african-american people, and just say "im looking for someone to pick cotton for me" .how do you think that would turn out? the same principle applies here, just because it's online it doesn't make it any less offending.
